Fidelio oder Die eheliche Liebe, in 3 atti; Iª rappr. della versione definitiva su testo rimaneggiato da Treitschke, Vienna, Kärntnertortheater, 23 maggio 1814. Testo tedesco con prosa e versione inglese a fronte (diversa da quella di 1138 e 1140). Si tratta in sostanza del libretto Léonore ou L'amour conjugal di Bouilly (Parigi, Feydeau, 19 febbraio 1798, con musica di Gaveaux). Beethoven avrebbe voluto il tit. Leonore, giudicato impossibile per via della Leonora di Paer, rappr. al t. di Corte di Dresda nel 1804. In base all'aspetto tipografico e alla presenza della Caradori (ritiratasi nel 1845), la presente ed. è riferibile a una rappr. degli anni 1840-1845.  Alla Iª rappr. era seguita (stesso teatro, 29 marzo 1806) una prima versione rielaborata su testo ridotto da Breuning; Iª rappr. inglese (in tedesco), Londra, Haymarket, 18 maggio 1832; in inglese, Covent Garden, 12 giugno 1835 (L).
